Final Mission

JB597 took off from East Kirby at 1723 hrs on 27th November 1943 for an operation on Berlin. Upon their return an attempt was made to land at Holme-on-Spalding Moor airfield in Yorkshire. The aircraft undershot the runway and crashed. No injuries were reported.
