Final Mission

On 8th February 1945 ND554 took off from East Kirkby as part of the first phase of an attack on an oil plant in Politz. The aircraft was lost without trace. All crew are commeroated on the Runnymede memorial.

There is some confusion over her identity number, some tomes refer to her as LE-C, however I have gone with the records from "Bomber Command Losses" and also "Avro Lancaster The definitive record" by Harry Holmes, both volumes list her as LE-A.
